Lieutenant-Colonel (temporary) H.A. Skone DSO

Lieut.Colonel SKONE has shown outstanding leadership and skill in commanding his Battalion in a series of actions during the Campaign. It was due to his quiet confidence and calmness in time of stress and good Military judgement, that his Battalion has fought and defeated the enemy again and again.

He personally conducted successful attacks on MAWLU in March, which ejected the Japs.

As Second-in-Command at the HENU Block his sound judgement and advice contributed greatly to the Brigade's success.

His leadership has maintained his Battalion as an offensive striking force at all times in spite of heavy casualties due to continuous and repeated actions with the enemy.
