Action for which commended :-

|
Major Cox commanded the Light A.A. Troop forming part of the
‘Broadway’ Garrison. I have seldom, if ever, served with better
trained, disciplined and administered troops with such high morale.
This Troop shot down some 5 or 6 enemy aircraft and damaged others
during its time at ‘Broadway’. They also defended their positions on
the perimeter during the first night attack on the Stronghold and
killed many enemy at two and three yards from the gun-pits. Major
Cox was entirely responsible for the A.A. defence of ‘Broadway’
including the warning system which can be described as 100%
successful.
This officer was later in command of his Troop on the MYITKYINA
airfield and earned the commendation of C.A.I HQ for accurate and
effective AA shooting and as a model unit worthy of emulation by all
other units of C.A.I.
