This Officer held O.P. Hill at the HENU Block for six consecutive nights against repeated enemy attacks. In the fierce fighting of the night 16/17th April 1944 he moved from one section position to another encouraging his men and held on despite the fact that the enemy occupied some of his positions. His coolness, courage and determination has been a magnificent example to all ranks. His platoon has inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy. |
