Action for which recommended :-

|
This man was the last man left in his section during the attack on
the night 15/16 April 1944 at HENU Block, along with his section
commander they held a most vital position on O.P. hill. At all times
he was cool and determined, despite the fact that the enemy were
through the wire and around his position. He continued to engage the
enemy with grenades and bren fire right up to the last minute when
the counter-attack regained control of the hill. He was at all times
excellent and when he could not reach the enemy with his grenades,
got in the open and threw them despite heavy enemy fire.
He at all times was extremely brave and was instrumental in saving
his position. 100 enemy dead were counted on this position later in
the day.
