Action for which recommended :-

|
Sgt. GIBSON was in command of a section on a vital point in his
platoon area. On the night 13/14 April during a particularly heavy
attack, Sgt. GIBSON was wounded three times. Although he was in
considerable pain, he remained at his post directing the fire of his
section and remaining in complete control of the situation. At dawn,
when the attack was repelled, Sgt. GIBSON was evacuated to the R.A.F.
However, he refused further evacuation and at his own request was
allowed to return to his command when a further attack developed.
