Action for which recommended :-
|
|
During the action at HENU on March 17th 44, during the morning this
NCO was assisting in commanding his MMG's and at all times was
steady and a splendid example to his men.
In the afternoon when his guns could fire no more he went into the
counter attack and set a brilliant example in attacking enemy
positions, he was always well in the fore and was responsible for
killing several enemy with his grenades and his bayonet.
He just walked around the place occupied by the enemy and when they
shot at him he just threw a grenade and went in with his men at
bayonet charges. He showed complete disregard for his own safety
throughout all actions. |
