Action for which recommended -

On the 26th March 1944 Naik KYA LIN was sent out with a patrol to contact an enemy force approaching 'BROADWAY'.

At 0545 hrs on the 27th March the patrol contacted the enemy in his harbour. The patrol engaged the enemy. As the patrol was withdrawing an enemy section tried to outflank them. Naik KYA LIN saw this enemy movement and attached them single handed with his sten gun, killing three and driving the remainder of the enemy off.

The quick action and courage of Naik KYA LIN enabled this patrol to withdraw without loss and take back valuable information.
